Jackson Coombs

Jackson Coombs, a Richmond, VA native, graduate from UVA in 2026 with a BA in History. She's always been drawn to the power of personal narratives in historical scholarship, which she explored through my coursework and an internship with Byrd’s Nest LLC, where she researched freedom colonies in South Texas. Growing up in a secular household, she wasn’t very familiar with religious history, but after taking her first Jewish Studies class during her second year at UVA, her interest in Judaism and Jewish history has continued to grow. She enjoyed deepening that engagement as a Susan and Mark B. Sisisky Jewish Studies Fellow. Outside of academics, she enjoys thrifting, playing guitar, and watching movies.
