Jewish Studies at UVA exists because of the longstanding partnership between the University and generous alumni and community supporters.
$25 Million for 25 Years Capital Campaign
In the fall of 2025, UVA Jewish Studies celebrated its 25th anniversary with a series of seminars, panels, dinners, and other events for faculty, staff, students, alumni, donors, and community members. During the celebration, Director Jennifer Geddes announced the $25 Million for 25 Years Capital Campaign, which seeks to support highly sought after initiatives such as:
- professorships in Holocaust Studies, American Jewish life, Israel studies, Yiddish studies, and modern Hebrew literature
- graduate fellowships
- opportunities for undergraduate students to engage with faculty, conduct research, and enhance their learning in the field of Jewish Studies

Annual Fund
Contributions to the Jewish Studies Annual Fund support a variety of needs, such as:
- enriching undergraduate student life
- supporting graduate education
- developing curricula
- supporting faculty research
- endowing a lecture series
- sustaining other opportunities
