MA Student, Religious Studies

Dakota Wade is an M.A. student with the Department of Religious Studies at UVA, wher ehe focuses on modern and contemporary religious thought. His current research works along the intersections of post-Kantian philosophy, political theology, modern Jewish thought, and contemporary continental theory, exploring how the modern categories of nation, race, and religion are entangled and informed by conceptions of affect, temporality, and identity. More broadly, his work hovers between philosophy and the study of religion and is concerned with their historical and contemporary intersections, especially their relation to questions of politics.

Wade is also a writer and aspiring academic who recently completed a Master of Divinity (2024) at Union Presbyterian Seminary (Richmond, Virginia), where he also served as a graduate exchange student with the Theologische Fakultät at the Universität Bern (Switzerland).
