USC Fellows

UVA Jewish Studies is proud to announce its Undergraduate and Graduate Research Fellows in Holocaust Studies for Summer 2025. These fellows will be granted funds to study in residence at the University of Southern California's Dornsife Center for Advanced Genocide Research in Los Angeles.

Jewish Studies Graduate Fellow Alexa Luborksy, whose family survived the Holocaust, pogroms in the Ukraine, and the Armenian Genocide, was awarded the UVA Graduate Summer Research Fellowship in Holocaust Studies to support her graphic memoir-in-poems collection that investigates the methods of preserving collective memory from the perspective of a third-generation descendant.

Jewish Studies Undergraduate Fellow and fourth-year student Grace Theriot will be UVA’s first Undergraduate Summer Research Fellow in Holocaust Studies. At the USC Dornsife Center, Grace will research female coming-of-age experiences during the Holocaust, looking at first- and third-person archive sources from and about young women in the Holocaust.
