Alexa Luborsky
MFA in Creative Writing, UVA
Alexa Luborsky earned her MFA in Creative Writing from UVA in 2025, where she was also a Jewish Studies Graduate Fellow and an H. Kruger Kaprielian Scholar. Her poems and hybrid works have appeared or are forthcoming in journals such as AGNI, Black Warrior Review, and Guernica, among others. She graduated from the University of Chicago with honors in 2018 and holds a B.A. in Economics and a Creative Writing Minor. Born in Toronto and raised in Rhode Island, she currently resides in Charlottesville, VA.
In 2025, Alexa became the first UVA Graduate Research Fellow in Holocaust Studies at the USC Dornsife Center for Advanced Genocide Research, where she compared and contrasted the Holocaust and Armenian Genocide's perpetrator and survivor imaginaries of landscape and place for her graphic memoir-in-poems collection.
In 2025, Alexa participated in a poetry and fiction reading at UVA to celebrate Jewish Studies' 25-Year Anniversary.
