Prior to starting my academic career, I served in the U.S. Marine Corps for 10 years, during which time I did four tours overseas. I am a transfer student from the University of South Carolina. I am currently a 3rd year student pursuing a math degree.

I have a beautiful wife, Melissa, and an 18 month-old daughter, Maya. We live in Fredericksburg, and I commute to UVA for class. My wife is an active-duty Marine lawyer who is currently stationed at Quantico. I am hoping to attend medical school after graduation and possibly rejoin the service as a doctor.

I am interested in the Jewish Studies Program because my wife and I are converting to the faith. I also took a very interesting class with Professor Alexander and would love to be around more people like her.
