Rose Weitzman

Rose Weitzman, a Big Stone Gap, VA native, graduated from UVA in 2026 with a Bachelor's in Government and a minor in Public Policy and Leadership. After taking an impactful class about the history of Nazi Germany as an undergraduate, she was selected to help Professor Manuela Achilles conduct research for her book on Hitler and the Holocaust. Growing up in the South, she often felt isolated being Jewish. That experience led her to seek the community she never had in her hometown by becoming a Susan and Mark B. Sisisky Jewish Studies Undergraduate Fellow. While at UVA, she also enjoyed volunteering with University Democrats and Pancakes for Parkinson’s. In her free time, she likes to run, go thrifting, and make dinner for her friends.
