Nau Hall Directions

Below are a map and list of directions (including ADA accessible pathways) for accessing Nau Hall 101 from the Central Grounds Garage.

Directions to Nau Hall room 101 (1540 Jefferson Park Ave.) from Central Grounds Parking Garage (400 Emmet St. S)

  1. Take the stairs to the top floor of Central Grounds Garage, turn right to walk past the bookstore and proceed up the stairwell to the right of Newcomb Hall.
  2. Continue up the next stairwell past the Starbucks entrance and emerge in the Newcomb courtyard facing Monroe Hall.
  3. Continue straight across the courtyard down the sidewalk with Monroe Hall on your right until you reach McCormick Road.
  4. Cross McCormick, turn to your right and walk past the West Range of the Lawn until you emerge before the amphitheater.
  5. Continue straight with the amphitheater on your left and make your way down the sidewalk and turn left down the stairwell at Halsey Hall (with the anchors out front) 
  6. Cross the road (Amphitheater Way) in front of you and continue through the Dawson's Row houses and down the stairwell to the back of New Cabell Hall
  7. Continue straight on the sidewalk with New Cabell on your left until you see the South Lawn Building (with the column awning and labyrinth) on your right. This is Nau/Gibson Hall.
  8. Enter the main, glass doors and take the stairwell down to the first floor, where you’ll find an opening on either side of the stairwell to enter the Nau 101 lobby. 

ADA Accessible Directions to Nau Hall room 101 (1540 Jefferson Park Ave.) from Central Grounds Parking Garage (400 Emmet St. S)

  1. Take the elevator to the top floor of Central Grounds Garage, turn right out of the elevator, go past the UVA Bookstore, and into Newcomb Hall. 
  2. Take the elevator to the second floor and turn right to go past the Starbucks out of Newcomb Hall and onto the ADA ramp that will take you to the Newcomb courtyard facing Monroe Hall.
  3. Continue straight across the courtyard down the sidewalk with Monroe Hall on your right until you reach McCormick Road.
  4. Cross McCormick, turn to your right and go past the West Range of the Lawn until you emerge before the amphitheater with Garret Hall on your left.
  5. Take a left at Garret Hall and go down the sidewalk past the amphitheater until you reach a four-way intersection at the field with the Homer statue. Turn right down the sidewalk past Cocke Hall and go towards the columned awning to the side of Old Cabell Hall.
  6. Go under the awning and down the ramp to enter New Cabell Hall and continue straight down the main hallway until you reach the elevator doors. Ride to the first floor and exit the elevator to your right until you see the glass doors labeled "Middle Eastern & South Asian Languages & Cultures"
  7. Enter these doors and move to the back left of the lobby where you'll exit the building onto an ADA ramp. Go to your right so you emerge in front of the UVA South Lawn field with Nau Hall at the other end on your left (the building with the column awning and labyrinth out front)
  8. Follow the sidewalk until you see an ADA accessible door for Nau Hall on your left. Enter here and proceed down the elevator to the first floor. Go out of the elevator to your left and enter the opening where the women's restroom and water fountain are, next to the glass exit doors. This is the Nau 101 lobby.
