Sigal Yona Interview Screenshot

Last semester, Sigal Yona, a Ph.D. candidate at the Centre for Cinema and Media Studies at Ghent University, became the inaugural UVA Jewish Studies Visiting Ph.D. Fellow. During her visit to UVA, Sigal had the opportunity to collaborate with supportive Jewish Studies faculty members, attend Jewish Studies events, and present on her dissertation about cinema-going in mid-20th century Tel Aviv.

While visiting, Sigal sat down for an interview with UVA Jewish Studies about her academic background, dissertation, and overall experience being a Visiting Fellow in UVA Jewish Studies. These videos can be viewed on our YouTube channel and may prove informative for other Ph.D. students considering the UVA Jewish Studies Visiting Fellowship.
