Sophie Bell

Sophie is a PhD Candidate in Clinical Psychology. She earned her BA at Duke University and her MA in Psychology at UVA. Her research is on the identification of biological, behavioral, and cognitive markers of aging and Alzheimer’s disease. She is completing clinical training in neuropsychology at the UVA Memory and Aging Care Clinic and the Richmond VA Medical Center. Within the field of Jewish Studies, Sophie hopes to integrate her passion for Holocaust remembrance with her research on memory and aging, asking questions like “how can individual testimonies of mass atrocities persist in the collective memory of generations who did not directly experience them?”
