Rebecca Rine

Research Professor of Theological Writing and Research at Erskine Theological Seminary

A North Carolinian, Dr. Rine began her academic journey at Campbell University, where she studied English. She subsequently earned a master’s degree from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte in Applied Linguistics and a Ph.D. in religious studies from the University of Virginia. Dr. Rine established a graduate-level writing center at Covenant Theological Seminary and taught religion and literature at George Mason University before joining the Writing Program at Grove City. Her publications include articles in the Journal of Biblical Literature, Presbyterion, and Journal of Christian Education and Belief. She currently serves on the steering committee for the Patristic and Medieval History section of the Evangelical Theological Society and the editorial review board of the Journal of the Evangelical Theological Society.

Dr. Rine also brings a wealth of experience in editing to her role at Erskine, having served as an editor for numerous pastors, professors, academic journals, and Christian presses, such as Christian Focus, Reformation Trust, Reformation Heritage, Crossway, and Eerdmans. While working at Covenant Seminary, she was the program evaluator for a multi-year grant funded by Lilly Endowment’s Sustaining Pastoral Excellence Initiative, and she continues to support academic institutions and non-profit organizations by assisting with grant proposal writing and project management.
