Kerwin Holmes, Jr.
PhD Candidate, Religious Studies
Kerwin Holmes, Jr. is a Religious Studies doctoral candidate in the Judaism and Christianity in Antiquity program. He is an alumnus of Morehouse College (BA), the University of Chicago Divinity School (MA), and the University of Virginia (MA). He is currently writing his dissertation on Babai the Great, a 6th – 7th-century Persian Christian theologian and monk who wrote a tome on the two natures (perhaps “bi-personal”) union of Christ. Kerwin’s work is aimed at highlighting the contributions of Christians from Sasanid Persia and closing the cultural and theological gaps in knowledge and historical exposure between the East and the West.
