Emily Filler

Wallerstein Assistant Professor of Jewish Studies, Drew University

Emily A. Filler is the Wallerstein Assistant Professor of Jewish Studies at Drew University. Prior to joining Drew, Filler was the Assistant Professor in the Study of Judaism at Washington and Lee University in Lexington, Virginia. She also taught at Earlham College, St. Olaf College, and completed a visiting postgraduate fellowship at the University of Cambridge. Filler received her PhD in the Study of Judaism from the University of Virginia’s Department of Religious Studies. She earned her Master of Theological Studies from Harvard Divinity School, and a BA in Religion and Philosophy from The George Washington University. Her research focuses on modern Jewish and continental philosophy, political and ethical theory, and classical Jewish texts.
