Amy Fedeski
Dr. Fedeski's research focuses on transnational Jewish migration politics in the Cold War. Her doctoral dissertation, “‘What We Want To Do As Americans’: Jewish Political Activism and United States Refugee Policy, 1969-1981”, recovered the critical role of Jewish American communal activists in transforming American refugee politics during the middle Cold War. It also placed the role of these activists in transnational context, exploring how Jewish American NGOs interacted with local, national and international actors and arguing that domestic immigration policy cannot be considered separately from global migration politics. Amy holds a BA in History and Politics from the University of Sheffield and an MPhil in American history from the University of Cambridge.
