Sophie Bell
PhD Student, Psychology
Sophie is a fourth year PhD student in Clinical Psychology. She earned her BA at Duke University and her MA in Psychology at UVA. Her graduate research is on the identification of biological and cognitive markers of aging and Alzheimer’s disease. She is completing clinical training in neuropsychology in the UVA Health Departments of Neurology and Psychiatry. Within the field of Jewish Studies, Sophie hopes to integrate her passion for Holocaust remembrance with her intellectual interests in memory and aging, asking questions like “how can individual testimonies of mass atrocities persist in the collective memory of generations who did not directly experience them?”
