Julia Fisher is a writer and teacher from Washington, D.C. She worked as a reporter-researcher for The New Republic and teaches at Georgetown Day School. She graduated from Yale University and has a PhD in English from the University of Virginia. Her dissertation considered Hawthorne and Melville’s revitalization of allegory in the wake of English romanticism.
