Abigail Snyder and Liz Alexander posed next to the cover of Biblical Archaeology Review

Earlier this month, Professor of Religious Studies and Jewish Studies Liz Alexander and Friedman Family Graduate Fellow and Jewish Studies Program Assistant Abigail Snyder published a short article in the Fall 2026 issue of Biblical Archaeology Review. Entitled, "Four Early Rabbis You Should Know," the piece introduces readers to Rabbi Akiva, Rabban Gamaliel, Rabbi Yohanan, and Resh Lakish, each of whom shaped the rabbinic movement in key ways. The article was written to be accessible to a wide audience beyond just the scholarly world.
