Gerard Alexander is an associate professor of politics. His teaching and research focus on Comparative Politics, especially 20th century Europe. He is author of The Sources of Democratic Consolidation and journal articles on that and other topics. He has also published articles in the New York Times, the Washington Post, and other publications. He regularly teaches a course on "The Politics of the Holocaust," which considers competing explanations for the Holocaust, and includes consideration of other genocidal events in the 20th and early 21st centuries.
